Erap plans to run for Mayor of Manila under the United Nationalist Alliance, a newly formed coalition between his Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP) and Vice President Jejomar Binay's Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban). Erap is likely to run against incumbent mayor Alfredo Lim, a former ally whose re-election in 2004 he helped ensure with his endorsement but who had since turned against him. Estrada's nephew, Estregan is the incumbent governor of Laguna, where the Ejercitos (their real surname) trace their roots. The 3-time FAMAS winner is seeking re-election, and will be challenged by current 4th district representative Edgar San Luis. The current vice governor of Bulacan, who is a member of Lakas-Kampi, will look to run again for a second term. Another actor, Phillip Salvador, is also eyeing the position. After almost 25 years in showbiz, the actor is looking to be the next Mayor of Ormoc, Leyte. Gomez' wife, Lucy Torres, is the incumbent representative of the 4th district of the province. Gomez is just pursuing his aborted plans in 2010 to run for office in his wife's home province. Threatened with a disqualification case after he failed to establish residency in the area, Gomez dropped out of the race and fielded his wife Lucy. In 2013, Gomez will be up against family members of incumbent Ormoc Mayor, Eric “Beboy” C. Codilla, head of the Lakas party in Leyte. This time around, he's running for Congress. The veteran actor served two years as a member of the Batangas Provincial Board but, come May, he will be aiming to be congressman of the 2nd district of Batangas. Incumbent congressman Hermilando 'Dodo' Mandanas is in his third and final term. Mandanas defeated De Leon in 2007; no one has yet expressed interest in the position.
